Leith Festival starts

It's that time of the year when Leith becomes the home of one of Scotland's biggest community festivals. I have been, and will be, going to a lot of events over the 10 days of the festival. There's a full listing of the festival on its website, but I thought I would make a particular mention of a very moving exhibition at Leith Library. It featured the first public exhibition for decades of the Leith "Rolls of Honour", listing the more than 2200 Leithers who died in the 1st World War (out of a total of 14,000 who served, from a total population of only 84,000). Open all week, and well worth seeing. There's full details of the exhibition on the Campaign for a Leith Museum blogspot, here.
